
Robert L. Allen Jr
Attorney Robert L. Allen, Jr. has been a practicing attorney in the Brookline area for fifteen years. He has a diverse background in law ranging from Real Estate Law and Business Law to Personal Injury and Wills/Trusts as well as civil and criminal litigation. Attorney Allen has concentrated in real estate and related issues of title review and examination for the past ten years representing buyers, sellers and lenders. He previously served Chair of the Brookline Board of Selectman and is currently a Town Meeting Member. He serves on the Board of Corporators for the Bank of Canton. He was also appointed by the Governor to serve on the state's Affordable Housing Task Force. Attorney Allen is most recently affiliated with his own firm. He received his education at the New England School of Law (J.D. 1995) & Northeastern University (B.S., Criminal Justice, 1991).
Adam R. Barnosky
Attorney Adam R. Barnosky is the newest addition to the firm. His areas of practice include small business development & representation, civil litigation, and zoning & land use. He served as a law clerk for Attorney Robert L. Allen before joining the firm as a full time associate in 2009. Attorney Barnosky clerked for the Honorable Virginia M. Morgan of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan during the summer of 2007. While attending law school, he was elected Vice-President of the Student Bar Association and served Chair of the school's Office of Public Service. He is a graduate of New England School of Law (J.D. 2009) and Middle Tennessee State University (B.A. 2004).
Amy Leerink
Attorney Amy Leerink is a native of Walpole, Massachusetts. She earned her undergraduate degree from Boston University's School of Management in Finance in May 1992, her law degree with honors from New England School of Law in May 1997, and an advanced law degree (L.L.M.) in Tax from Boston University School of Law in May 2003.
Amy's practice concentrates in the areas of Estate Planning and Probate. She handles all aspects of probate and estate settlement cases, drafts Wills and Trusts in accordance with clients' estate and tax planning goals, represents clients in probate court on issues including contested probate petitions and guardianship petitions. She also prepares estate tax returns, gift tax returns and fiduciary income tax returns. Amy is also a member of the Probate Law Section of the Massachusetts Bar Association and service on the Executive Board of the Norfolk County and Plymouth County Estate and Business Planning Council.
Hon. Thomas J. May
Hon. Thomas J. May recently retired from the bench after serving thirteen years as a District Court Judge, the last six years as the Presiding Justice of the Brookline District Court. Judge May graduated from Boston College, and upon graduation entered into the U.S. Marine Corps and served as an infantry officer for three years and was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain. Judge May entered Boston College Law School as a fulltime student while also serving in the evening as a Brookline Police Office. Judge May graduated from Boston College Law School in 1966 and after a brief period of employment in a Boston commercial law firm returned to Boston College Law School to serve as an assistant to Dean Robert F. Drinan, S.J. Judge May after several years of service with Father Drinan became an Assistant District Attorney in Norfolk Superior Court. As an Assistant District Attorney he prosecuted serious criminal cases, including several homicides. When Judge May left the District Attorney's office his first case as defense counsel was with the famed F. Lee Bailey & J. Albert Johnson as co counsel in the infamous Patty Hearst trial. After the trial Judge May associated with J. Albert Johnson and later they formed the partnership of Johnson, Mee & May, a firm of ten lawyers specializing in litigation of criminal, probate and complex civil trials. Judge May also appeared as co-appellate counsel for the New Hampshire High school Teacher, Pamela Smart.
Judge May has more than forty years experience as an attorney and judge with a variety of experience in civil, probate and criminal jury trials. He is proud to be associated with the Law Office of Robert L. Allen Jr where he is "of counsel" to the firm.
Judge May is a life-long resident of Brookline, as was his father and has served as a selectman for the Town of Brookline.
Brian J. Spillane
Attorney Brian J. Spillane has been a practicing attorney in Boston for nearly nine years. His areas of practice include residential & commercial real estate. Attorney Spillane is responsible for all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate for the firm: including client relations, business development, purchase and sales review and identification and resolution of complex title issues. Attorney Spillane also has experience coordinating 1031 tax deferred exchanges and condominium conversion projects. Attorney Spillane is also a Commissioner of Deeds for the State of New Hampshire. He received his education at Suffolk University (J.D. 1999) & Providence College (B.A.1996)
